Awesome Book Catalog Tool!!

Ok,maybe you've seen this already? I'm having way too much fun over at LibraryThing.com.
Eek what a simple, fast tool to catalog your books/library online- I love it!
Throwing books on there is a snap- and they show up automatically with pictures and links to more info- woohoo! try it- you'll see. What I've uploaded so far is under 'avaD' (go figure), if you'd like to visit my personal library....
A lot more to go but I am a bit sleepy.... I'll edit and add some other time. It also tells you who else shares a lot of your book interests! try it out!wheee

How do you add books? By title? ISBN?

when you sign up, you just click on add books and there's a search window that works with keywords...type in any few words from a title and it'll pull up the closest matches from amazon...many of them with pics of the covers...so then you just choose the right one by clicking on it, it's added to 'your library'.
You can also search by putting in an author's name, if you have quite a few books from that author...and then you just click on all the books you have when they show up on the right. I find it's an extremely easy and intuitive process, especially visually.!

oh and on the bottom it says:

Tip: Go ahead and use ISBNs, ISSNs or UPC/EAN numbers. Of course, US and UK ISBNs differ.

thanks for the tip! kept meaning to start a catalogue of my collection, since i have books both here in the UK and back home in Canada, so gave it a start today... so far my only problem with it is that none of my older books (like, stuff published before 1960 or so) seem to be archived in any of the databases this site uses (not even Libary of Congress...) so i can't enter them right now. any idea if there's some way to make entries manually or some other way of getting over this issue...?

yeah, I found that a bit of a problem too, so I've just started by cataloging the ones that did come up. But there IS a way to manually enter books, here's the page:manual addition
